Recycling Map Mashup for the City of Torrance, CA
Friday, December 5th, 2008While working at Ideum, I designed and built a recycling website for the City of Torrance, CA. This site features retro comic-book style Flash videos demonstrating what and how to recycle, as well as an intuitive three-step Ajax-driven recycling map. Users pick a category such as Automotive or Lawn & Garden, then a specific product such as ‘motor oil’, and a Google Map updates to reveal recycling centers in the city that recycle that product. Map results include addresses, phone numbers, and operating hours of the recycle centers.
