Slave Narratives
While working at Ideum, I designed and built this Slave Narratives website for the Museum of the African Diaspora. This project presents stories of slavery, as written by slaves themselves, in a symbolic and interactive way.
Upon first visit to the site, the visitor is presented with an introduction read by Maya Angelou, as a randomly generated cluster of multicolored dots slowly appears to reveal a unified circle.
As the mouse is moved over the navigational circle, most of the circle’s dots shy away, but those that remain can be clicked to hear and read the corresponding narrative.
